There’s a new chapter starting at the Lapland Proving Ground this autumn. Jukka Vuorinen, our beloved track coordinator and manager has moved onto a new work opportunity at the other end of Finland after a decision that was reinforced also by family reasons. All of us at LPG want to wish him the best of luck in his new position!

Like always when one door is closing another one is opening. So that means that also the LPG door is now opening up to the next one; I’m Milla Mäkelä, and I will be there for our customers, doing my best to provide the same level of support Jukka did. I’m not coming from too far away, I have been working at our Arctic Research Center with endurance testing projects for the last 7 years. I started as a project engineer before graduation and quite soon after my graduation to Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering I was given the team leader responsibilities.

So I know the proving ground quite well from before, but I’m more than excited to face the new types of challenges that come with the Proving Ground Operations Manager job description. I believe I also get to use the experience I have gathered from racing semi professionally for the last 25 years. If I’d name one thing that racing has taught me which could help me with the proving ground management is that you should never stop improving. So, if you have any ideas, hopes or wishes on improving our facilities or services please do let me know!

Looking forward to working with you this upcoming winter. See you in Muonio!

With Regards from autumn colored Finland,
Milla Mäkelä
